On that occasion, he ordered slaughter of cow for feast to serve his guests. This infuriated the Raja and he sacrificed the saint's son to Maa Kali. The Sultan went back to Delhi and informed the Firoz Shah Khilji about this terrible incident. To counter the Pandu Raja, the Sultan sent a large army under the leadership of Jaffar Khan Ghazi who attacked Pandua. Although, Shahid Shah Safiuddin was fatally wounded in this battle and later he was buried at the exact spot, where he fell during the battle, with extreme respect.
